The Henley Barbeque
On the Saturday afternoon of Henley Royal Regatta the club (in conjunction with Nemesis BC, our alumni) hosts a barbeque. This is always a popular event, and a perfect opportunity to catch up with past and present members of the club over a glass of Pimms.
Two Cities Boat Race Dinner
Following the Two Cities Boat Race between Manchester and Salford our annual dinner is held, again in conjunction with our alumni. This marks the end of the regatta season (bar Henley), and is a chance to cheer the successes of the club over the preceding year.
The Waterball
A less formal ball, held at the end of the first semester, is the Waterball. This is usually held in conjunction with the university Surf, Swimming and Sub-Aqua societies – a perfect end to the first part of the season.
Nemesis Annual Dinner
Towards the middle of October our alumni host a dinner in London, preceded by racing between current and alumni VIIIs.
Boathouse Barbeque
As the summer weather gains momentum we open up the boathouse for a barbeque and a glass of Pimm’s, whilst taking in the fine views over the Bridgewater Canal.
AU Socials
AU socials are regular events during the year. A chance to put on fancy dress and party!
We also have post-race socials- a chance to celebrate the successes of the day. These generally turn out being pretty epic nights and are not to be missed.
